Okay I will admit that most of my 'action' photos came out extremely blurry, but that's okay because once my dogs are let loose in the Zoom Room they start running around like crazy! We love having a Zoom Room close by because we can rent out the gym for a half & hour and play on the equipment, or attend group meet up’s and socialize with other dogs. On this particular day we had the place to ourselves and we (the dogs not me) had a blast climbing and playing on everything. Luna’s fear of the tunnel is officially over and she now shoots through that thing like she is on some kind mission! Penny of course doesn't need any coaxing going up the A-Frame or jumping over hurdles. She loves proving to us that her size is not an issue and can do the same things that Luna can do. The Zoom Room is quickly becoming a weekly visit for us and all it takes is a half an hour to get in some great quality exercise time!
Monterey SPCA Wag'n Walk
Two weekends ago, D, Luna, Penny and me joined our Tuesday Trekkers Walking Group at the SPCA for the Monterey County 18th Annual Wag n’ Walk. This annual event helps to raise money and awareness for homeless, abused, and neglected animals in our community. Since I had such a fun time when I walked for the Seattle Humane Society (in 2011), I thought it would be good to join up with my current community and walk the event.
There were over 1500 folks participating this year and - just like last time - I was a bit overwhelmed with all of the crowds and commotion. Fortunately Penny’s barking was not an issue and anyone who noticed just laughed and waved. It was an absolutely beautiful day; we had sunny weather, a cool breeze, and enjoyed the scenic trail overlooking the beaches of the Pacific coast here in Monterey. The 4 mile walk took us about 2 hours to complete with many drink stops and photo ops. We ended up having to carry Penny for a portion of the walk as our little girl over exerted herself early on. Luna of course was a pro, and received many compliments from other Golden walkers. Our team raised $1085!
